Now and Then


This poet of the Tsong dynasty is so miserable.
The wind sighs, a single swan passes over head
and he is alone on the water in his skiff.
If only he appreciated life in eleventh century China as much as I do.
No loud cartoons on television,
No music from the ice cream truck.
Just the calls of many birds and the steady flow of the water clock

好...點形容呢? 感覺好得意。不過我覺得呢度描述嘅情懷,並唔單止喺中國先有,其實可唔可以話呢啲係舊日嘅情懷? 如果真係講情懷、意境,我覺得係今人看古,多過洋人看中。

很多外國人都對國畫的瀟灑寫意讚嘆不已,也許他們的視覺傳統以往太注重實質與具體性了。這位美國詩人想必有份回歸大自然的渴求吧!

佢些終唔係完全同一般中國詩人有一樣的味道,
但係我個人覺得佢詩中都略帶一點宋代幽怨不得志嘅味道味!

那是意境感覺,
可能係外國人表達唔到中國那種意境,
又可能係我們感受唔到佢想表達的情懷,
我想中西文意境嘅分野就是那樣的神奇吧!
