結果丈夫取得移民紙後立刻"消失",
而電話留言只說要離婚,
且她還可能要負責他往後十年的社會津貼,
這男子實在有夠賤!
這段新聞引發我想起早前政府修例,
由今年二月開始,
凡父母不是本港居民的新生嬰兒,
均不會獲得香港的生活眾援,
政府的理由是"子女跟隨父母生活會得到最好的照顧"!
政府這個"理由"實在說得好,
以往不少人就是以"親人團聚"為借口謀著數,
弄得政府要付上不少不必要的開支,
如今『以彼之矛攻彼之盾』真是漂亮.
雖然現存只有百多個這樣領取眾援的案件,
但如果政府不及早修例,
相信混水摸魚之輩還是陸續有來!

I know don't too much about this news, but I am sure that the Canadian sponser really have to 負責(他)往後十年的社會津貼 if he/she apply for 社會津貼.... but, so far, as I know that she/he can declare no money too, therefore she/he no need to do so, Or even she can report that to the immigration office, they might look at the case, if he was married her for the 移民紙, the immigration has the right to disqualify him and deport him.

not only the man, some woman from inland China did that too, I heard those stories all the times, nobody really will apply anyone from China anymore, no matter they are poor or rich....since they don't want to lost their time/love/money on the new wife/husband...

但圖書館就少去了,
因為啲書都唔update嘅! =(
I can find a lots of news book in our library, (published on or before 2008, maybe not much residents know the library has a NEW BOOKS section), everytimes when I was there I can easily to find them.
Of course, new books can only find from the Book Store, otherwise how can the publisher or the Author to earn/make money...

I think the govt can only go after the party (or parties) that signed the contract, and only if the conditions of the contract have been breached. It is my understanding that a sponsorship contract usually stipulates that the sponsor shall be financially responsible for a period of time (usually 10 years) regardless of whether the couple remains married or not during the same period. Otherwise, people may deliberately choose to divorce and then shift the financial burden to the govt (and therefore the tax payers). Please note I am not saying or implying in any shape or form that it is the case here, not at all.
To prosecute a person for fraud, the Crown must prove (beyond a shadow of doubt?) that there has been intent or a conspiracy to commit fraud. In a relationship situation, the prosecutor has to rely on evidence from the "victimized" spouse who might not be considered an unbiased witness. Further, there is no law that prohibits a person from saying I love you one day and then leaving the next. It all comes down to producing acceptable hard evidence to convince the court.

When I was in Canada, my local Canadian friends told me that they thought Hong Kong people were very simple when it came to love. Hong Kong people really believed in love and seldom used marriage as a tool to get something else.

香港人的確較少用這種手法搞移民的!
